EVENTS
5km Fun Run/Walk – N$100 (N$50 per scholar – group entry).
10km Fun Run/Walk – N$100 (N$50 per scholar – group entry).
10km Elite Run - N$300 - 55min Cut-off time (Females 60min). Includes event shirt.

The race will start and finish at Zoo Park, Windhoek
Start time 10km Elite: 7.30. Cut Off 8:25. Females 8:30
Start 5km/10km Fun Run: 8.30 Cut Off: 10:30
Prize giving at approximately. 11h00

THE ROUTE
The start and finish will be at Zoo Park, just opposite the new Nedbank head office. The route will head South, around Ausspannplatz and then around Snyman’s circle. Runners will then head back-up Independence Avenue, passing Zoo Park, continuing further North.

The turnaround for the 5km is indicated by a turnaround sign close to the Engen Service Station. (At the second water point)

The 10km runners will continue to the feared “Simon De Witt bridge” climb, which will be a decisive section of the race. At the Fire department circle, runners will turn around for the home stretch back to Zoo Park.

The Race Organisers reserve the right to modify the route at short notice.

SAFETY
Participants need to assess for themselves (and /or minors) whether they are fit enough to take part.

All participants take part in the event at their own risk and indemnify the organisers, sponsors, host and other authorities of any loss or injury, however that loss or injury may be caused which might occur in preparation for, during or subsequent to the event and in any circumstances in which the organisers, sponsors and local and other authorities might attract a legal liability in respect of such injury or loss.

WATER POINTS
5km: There are 2 water points. The first at the corner of Adriaan & Meyer (opposite Zoo Park), and the second at the turnaround point.

10km: There are 3 water points. The first at the corner of Adriaan & Meyer (opposite Zoo Park), the second at the 5km turnaround point, the third will be the 5km turnaround point on the way back to the finish.

Enjoying your Morning Food and beverages will be sold throughout the morning. Coffee stands, beer tent, pizza’s and more, including kids’ entertainment.

GENERAL RULES
Competitors shall:

• Practice good sportsmanship at all times,
• Be responsible for their own safety,
• Obey instructions from race officials,
• Treat other competitors, officials, volunteers, and spectators with respect and courtesy,
• If they violate a rule knowingly report the violation to timekeepers or Yvonne Brinkmann.
• Inform timekeepers if they withdraw from a race
• Ensure that they are familiar with the race course; the participant is responsible for any deviations from route which if deemed an unfair advantage may result in disqualification.
• Competitors shall ensure that race numbers are clearly displayed on the front of their shirts at all times. Further instructions about race numbers and finishing protocol will be announced at the start of the race. Please pay attention to these instructions, as they are important for accurate time keeping.
• A competitor who has a protest must do so in writing within 15 minutes of his/her finish time. Written protests are to be handed in at timekeeper table or to Yvonne Brinkmann.
• Competitor can be suspended for unsportsmanlike conduct and fraud. The event organiser’s decision is final and will be made in consultation with relevant people.
• No items deemed to be a hazard to self or others can be worn e.g. no headsets or headphones.
